The Executive Secretary for Chamber of Petroleum Consumers, Mr. Duncan Amoah has revealed that the 2, 500 metric tons of LPG imported by BOST to manage the shortage that hit parts of the country will soon hit the market after days of import.
He revealed that the delay in the distribution was as a result of challenges encountered by BOST in meeting their schedules.
Mr. Amaoh said BOST do not have the refinery tank to store and process the commodity, therefore relied on the Tema Oil Refinery for support. The process according to him was to have been completed in 24 hours but it delayed for another 24 hours.
He gave the assurance that, the LPG would hit the market in some few days for consumes to purchase.
Mr. Amoah revealed further that another 5,000 metric tons of the LPG is expected to come in before the end of the week to help manage the situation.
Some parts of the Greater Accra and Central Regions were hit with shortage of LPG within this week for the general public to purchase.
