The outgoing Board Chairman of GOIL Prof. William A. Asomani has said, government is heavily indebted to the company and that is negatively affecting their operations.
Though he will not disclose the amount of money government owes GOIL, he believes when it’s paid, it will be enough to change the fortunes of GOIL.
He spoke to Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm during the annual general meeting and handing over ceremony.
He added, the re-branding of GOIL has made the company more attractive hence leading to increment of sales but not withstanding the re-branding, the board members also decided to cut their allowance making the company save a lot.
The new board chairman Mr. Kwamena Bartels promised to continue from where their predecessors left and will seek to improve the performance of GOIL.
