Composer and Kumasi based right owner and member of GHAMRO, Piesie Safo, is claiming that Rex Omar, the chairman, was not validly elected.
According to him, the election of Rex Omar was flawed and rejected by some stakeholders but some individuals for their selfish interest made him chair of GHAMRO.
‘’Rex Omar was not validly elected. The 13 board members did not use a valid process to elect Rex Omar,’’ he added.
He is therefore calling for interested individuals to go and pick forms to contest the chairmanship position instead of the fraudulent way used to elect Rex Omar.
Speaking to Prince Kwesi Dadzie aka Mr Handsome on GH Entertainment on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the composer described the leadership of Rex Omar, as poor as compared to that of Carlos Sakyi and Kojo Antwi.
‘’We will not allow Rex Omar to mismanage our money. We will not agree or allow Rex Omar to spend our money anyhow,’’ Piesie Safo said.
He revealed on the show he will soon hit the studios to record a song to campaign against Rex Omar over allegations that, he is mismanaging resources for GHAMRO.
Musicians he lamented are not benefiting from the organization and he will continue to fight and demand for accountability and transparency.
‘’When Carlos Sakyi was there, we fought against his leadership style until Kojo Antwi came. Kojo Antwi did not increase the amount but we had no option than to accept it.
However, we are not happy receiving any benefits from GHAMRO after Rex Omar came. He asked GHAMRO members to pay him so he will collect our rights for us. We agreed to pay him but we are not benefiting as expected.’’
When asked if he had evidence to back his allegations, Piesie Safo said, he would not have come out with the allegations if he had no evidence to support them.
‘’We should not sit unconcerned and allow some few individuals to spend our money. I do not hate Rex Omar but I am against his leadership style. We will not entertain the fraudulent way they voted Rex Omar again,’’ he concluded.
