Pupils at the Weija M. A 2 and 3 basic schools in the Ga south municipality of Accra are seriously crying for help over insufficient school desks which have now become an obstacle for learning.
According to some of the aggrieved pupils, three or four pupils use one desk which has over the years affected their performance.
A team of journalists led by Opanyin Darko visited the school and can describe the situation as a terrible, uncomfortable and a bigger obstacle for the pupils to climb the education ladder.
Some of the pupils don't even have desks to sit on at all, they keep standing from morning till closing which has made some of the pupils drop out of school, Nyankonton Mu Nsem’s Isaac Fifi Ankomah said.
The pupils are therefore appealing to the MCE of Ga south municipal assembly, Hon. Joseph Nyarni and His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo to as a matter of urgency come to their aid by donating school desks to make learning comfortable in the schools.
