The Assemblyman for Ananekrom Electoral Area in Agogo, Peter Abadji, has explained that the security detail shot yesterday by unknown assailants happened without provocation.
Speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow radio 87.5Fm, the Assembly member said the assailants opened fire at the security detail the moment they stepped out their vehicle into the bush.
Three soldiers and a policeman are on admission at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in Ashanti with gunshot wounds after coming under attack by unknown assailants.
ASP Samuel Azugu, Asante Akyem North District Police Commander, said the victims, part of the "Operation Cow Leg" task force seeking to eject Fulani herdsmen and their cattle from the district, had gone into the bush on assignment when they were fired on.
According to the Assembly member, the situation is worsening and if efforts are not employed, it will affect living in the community.
This is a serious threat to the residents because they are unable to go to farm, he said.
The district security council he said has reached a decision to flush out cattle from Agogo.
