Tell our good stories & avoid the sensationalism-Deputy Minister to Media

Written by  Jan 14, 2018
Deputy Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has said the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPPs) performance over the past year has been splendid.   Addressing journalists in Kumasi, the MP for Ofoasi Ayirebi said, it has not been all rosy but the record in 2017 has been a good one and citizens are satisfied with what they’ve done.   He made reference to the recent survey conducted by the University of Ghana (UG), which said some 52.7 percent of Ghanaians will vote for the ruling NPP if an election was held.   He said, we will not say we have solved all the challenges in the country in a year but we say to the glory of God that, we have done our best. We are expecting to maintain a robust economy and  create opportunities for Ghanaians. We will invest in more jobs.’’   The Deputy Minister reiterated commitment of President Nana Akufo-Addo, to fight corruption and in doing so; he has fulfilled his campaign promise in the establishment of a Special Prosecutor’s Office and appointed the Special Prosecutor..   ‘’We will perform better this year and fulfill our major campaign promises in 2018. When we are able to do that, we will only have the opportunity to improve upon them in 2019,’’ he added. He admonished the media to avoid sensationalism and help project the achievements of government.   He also encouraged them to inform government on the concerns raised by Ghanaians so officials can improve upon them.
