The Special Prosecutor Nominee, Martin Amidu, has expressed strong optimism that, Ghana would not have to depend on foreign aid, donations or loans if the leakages and seepages in the system are blocked.
Answering why he accepted the role as Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, to the Committee that, he accepted the role to help uproot corruption to save the country money so we are able to achieve the Ghana beyond aid mantra.
He said corruption has done many damages to this country and as a Special Prosecutor; he wants to set up a credible institution and a credible culture to block the leakages and seepages.
The nominee said he is coming to do a job not because of politics because a crime is crime no matter who committed it.“I want to set up a credible institution with a credible culture and block all the leakages in the system. I don’t care if I’m unable to prosecute anyone because part of the law talks about prevention.”
The Citizen Vigilante boasted he is the best choice for the tedious fight against corruption.
“…If you want anybody who will be meticulous in investigation and prosecution, the president has made the best choice for,” he said.
He added: “But if you want somebody who will look other way just disapprove.”
