A former deputy minister for the trade and industry, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has no intention to fight corruption as he pledged during the campaign period in 2016.
The former NDC Member of Parliament for the Nantong constituency in the Northern Region, noted that the president has only perfected corruption under his watch instead of fighting it.
He said, the president is not the one who started political corruption but he has perfected it.
‘’He has perfected political corruption. That is what the president has done,’’ he added.
The former legislator who was addressing a gathering at an event dubbed ‘the true state of the nation’ which was organized by Coalition For Restoration said, former President Kufour, told Ghanaians that corruption started from Adam hence, Nana Addo cannot be entirely blamed for corruption.
The seat of government he emphasized has become a haven for corruption where appointees of government are cleared of corrupt allegations leveled against them.
He also slammed the president for promoting the current CID boss, ACOP Tiwa Addo-Dankwa, despite the recent brouhaha at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
According to him, the NPP government lacks moral accountability, transparency; honesty and any government with such negative traits peddle falsehood in order to steal from the finances of state.
He said: ''The true state of Ghana is when people who were struggling to move from their homes...to look for jobs that are not available...The true state of Ghana is when people the electricity bills have quadrupled. The true state of Ghana is when people cannot not even afford three square meals. The true state of Ghana is when wake up without knowing where they can get the needed job.The true state of Ghana is when is when unfortunately, 53% of Ghanaians were deceived into giving their mandate to the most corrupt, the most incompetent, the most insensitive group of people to govern this country...That is the true state of Ghana.''
