Four suspected armed robbers Tuesday morning made away with an unspecified sum of money from a transport and spare parts company located at Ring Road, North Industrial Area in Accra.
The hooded robbers not only locked-up staff of Royal Motors before ransacking their tills for available cash said to run into millions, they also scared would-be witnesses and passers-by as they popped gunshots sporadically into the air to ward off people.
They also took with them a CCTV system they suspected could expose them.
In their haste to escape with their loot, the robbers ran their get-away Corolla saloon car into another car, causing the tyres of their car to burst. They then abandoned their car, seized the nearest saloon car and still managed to get away before police arrived.
No one is known to have been injured in the raid.
