Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Irbard Security Consult, Irbard Ibrahim, has said the direction by National Security to traders and shop owners around the president’s private residence to vacate the area, is in order.
In his view, the security of the president was paramount hence the traders and shop owners cannot continue to operate there.
According to him, the blind spots around the residence of the president are many and people could use that as an opportunity, to attack President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He was however quick to add that, the evacuation processes should be done in a mutually and beneficial way.
He also described as good argument by those who have asked the president to occupy the official residence at the Flagstaff House but noted that, because he is a people’s man, he feels comfortable living in his own private residence.
Irbard Ibrahim asked Ghanaians to look at the bigger picture and the security, safety of the president.
The compensation he posited should be enough so the affected persons would be able to relocate their businesses.
National Security has given shop owners and traders around the private residence of President Nana Akufo-Addo one week to pack out of the area.
The traders will be compensated with amounts ranging from GHc 3,000 to GHc 10,000.
National Security officials visited the area on Friday and handed the compensation packages to some shop owners but some of the traders expressed discontent when Rainbow Radio visited the area.
