Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) OF Cocobod, Dr. Stephen Opuni Frimpong, has been sued by the state for causing financial loss.
He was sued together with one Adongo Seidu.
The state has leveled 27 charges against the two and the case would be called on March 23, 2018, at the High Court rainbowradioonline.com has gathered.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) commenced an investigation into activities of the former CEO in 2017.
The former CEO’s assets have been frozen by the EOCO pending conclusion on the investigation.
The three-year tenure of the former COCOBOD CEO had been fraught with corruption allegations resulting in the agitation of the workers union.
The General Agriculture Workers Union (GAWU) and Industrial Commercial Workers Unions (ICU) accused him of privately selling cocoa beans to fund activities of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
But the claim was rebutted by some of the staff who accused their colleagues of doing the biding of their paymasters.
