The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Awutu Senya West District in the Central region, Mr. Steephen Kwame Quaye, has lambasted nurses and patients in the Awutu Breku Clinic for complaining bitterly over inadequate beds and other equipment to facilitate the health care centre.
The DCE became furious after Rainbow Radio’s Nana Yaw Asare visited the Clinic to find out the conditions under which the nurses and other health professionals work as well as the inconvenience the situation was having on patients.
Patients complained bitterly to the reporter that, they sleep on bare floor due to inadequate beds in order to receive treatment.
When approached to comment on the situation, the DCE fumed and lambasted the nurses and the patients for speaking to the media over the challenges confronting the clinic.
The DCE wondered why the health officials failed to speak to their director and has asked them to go to the media to demand for help.
‘’They should go ahead and speak to the media. They have their director and they should have spoken to their director and the director would have reported to me. This is a breach of our law. They have their plan and the plan is for them to speak to the director. You don’t resort to the media,’’ he said.
