Private legal practitioner, lawyer Tony Lithur has issued a statement appealing to the general public to respectfully give him and his family the privacy to deal with an intended divorce he filed against his wife, Nana Oye Lithur, the former Gender Minister.
A petition of divorce filed against the former minister by the husband who is seeking for divorce, has gone viral on social media with some media portals publishing the story.
But lawyer Lithur through the statement appealed to the public to give them privacy to deal with the issue in private.
The statement read: ‘’my attention has been drawn to the publication on social media of the docket copy of a petition for divorce I have filed against Nana Oye Lithur at the Divorce and Matrimonial Division of the High Court, Accra and some pictures of us. While acknowledging the existence of the filed petition, I would like to say that the process is an emotional difficult one for us and our children.
‘’I would, therefore, very respectfully and humbly, ask the general public to kindly give us, our children and loved ones some privacy to deal quietly with this painful stage of our lives,’’ the statement concluded.
