Binatone Ghana, a leading brand in household electronics as part of its corporate social responsibility,has made a donation to the disabled soccer team, Skates Soccer at Abossey Okai Zongo today (Thursday).
The donation is to aid the Skaters celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr after the month long Ramadan.
Speaking to the media, the CEO of Binatone Ghana, Mr. Venu Babu said that, the program is intended to extend greetings to their families prior to the special occasion and to present some food items such as rice, oil, meat to enable them celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr.
Mr. Venu Babu used the opportunity to also wish participating teams in the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2018 well. The competition is scheduled for the last week in September.
Binatone is the official sponsor for the 2018 AFCON Skate Soccer Challenge.
Commenting on the sponsorship, the CEO admonished the participating teams to put in their best.
When asked the team he expects to lift the cup he jokingly said: “I wish Ghana would take the cup because we are in Ghana”.
On the cost of the items donated, the Binatone CEO said “the value of the gift does not matter instead, it is about how much you care as well as the appreciation intended to express”, he stressed.
Eight (8) African teams are participating in the AFCON Skate Competition. The teams are: Ghana, Nigeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Niger, Benin and Ivory Coast.
