The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has arrested two suspected car snatchers.
The two suspects Abdul Malik and Kweku Abeka allegedly stole a Daewoo Evander from owner, on August 23, 2018 at Kasoa, which was parked at the tollbooth due to a fault it developed when the owner was on his way to Accra. on his way to Accra.
ACP David Ajim at a press conference told journalists that, the owner George Gyemfi, left the car at the tollbooth because it developed a fault.
He left the car at the same location with the aim of coming for it the next day.
However, he realised all the tyres on the car had been removed the next day. He then decided to find a way to tow the car from the location.
But the car was towed from the location when he returned back for it.
After he enquired from some individuals around, he was told a young man had come and towed the car away.
The owner later reported the incident to the police.
Investigations conducted revealed the car was towed to a private residence at Kasoa.
The police then followed up and established Abdul Malik had rebranded and sold the car.
The ACP said, ‘’when we got to the house, we saw five other cars including the one belonging to Mr Gyemfi.’’
He has admonished the public to always notify the police when their vehicles develop faults on the road to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.
