Private legal practitioner, lawyer Tony Forson has been elected as the new president for the Ghana Bar Association (GBA).
He toppled two other private legal practitioners,
Efua Ghartey and Peter Zwennes.
He polled 382 votes as against 315 and 215 votes garnered by his competitors respectively.
Mr. Forson takes over from Benson Nutsukpui whose tenure has come to an end.
The elections which took place, Thursday, September 13, 2018, in Koforidua where the GBA is having its 2018/19 Annual General Conference.
Lawyer William Oduro emerged as the Vice President with Yaw Boafo securing the Secretary position.
Mr. Gyau Baffour, the Assistant Secretary, Yaa Gyakobo, the Public Relations Officer and Saviour Kudze, the Assistant Public Relations Officer all retained their positions.
