Director General of Administration, Ghana Police Service, Commissioner of Police (COP), Mr Oppong Boanuh has appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) in a new reshuffle undertaken by the police administration. The top hierarchy of the police administration have failed, to appoint Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) since 2012. Critics described the vacancy as a clear disregard for the Police Service Regulation C.I. 76, which states, “the Inspector General shall be assisted by the Deputy Inspector General of Police.” Per C.I. 76, the Deputy IGP shall supervise, control, monitor and provide the day-to-day management of all schedules and command, and shall report to the IGP. Information gathered by Rainbowradioonline.com indicates that other COP, Mr Prosper K. Agblorh, is moving to Legal and Prosecution as Director General. COP, Mr Nathan Kofi Boakye is moving from the PIPS to Research and Planning as Director General whilst COP, Dr George Akuffo Dampare is moving to Welfare as Director General.
