Chairman of Ghana Premier league board, Mr Ashford Tetteh Oku, has revealed to Rainbow sports that the winners of 2015/16 Ghana premier league will stand a chance of getting USD$30,000.
This will be the biggest cash prize for a premier league winner in the history of Ghana Football despite the competition been played without a headline sponsor.
This was one of the discussions held between clubs representatives, PLB leadership and the GFA emergency Committee.
Mr Tetteh, also disclosed that the meeting had discussed last year that the champion will receive GH¢ 60,000 and GH¢ 20,000 for the runners up but there were some dynamics went into changing earlier agreement.
According to him president of the FA, Kwesi Nyantekyi, said the GH60, 000 isn’t enough considering the expenditure involved in competing in Africa club competitions and the prize must be increased to $30,000 with or without sponsor.
