Kennedy Agyapong is Mentally sick-NDC leader

Written by  Jun 29, 2016
National Women's Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has lambasted Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) describing him as a man with a mental problem.   Hajia Zainab Mahama speaking in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, said, the unsavory comments by the firebrand politician, Kennedy Agyapong is disgusting and deserves the best of commendation.   According to her, the statement by the legislator is a contemptuous slap on the face of women who are in political office.   Hon. Kennedy Agyapong launched a scathing attack on Charlotte Osei; the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) saying that: she was appointed in exchange for sex.   The controversial MP said this while addressing supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Asokwa; a suburb of Kumasi.   In a quote attributed to him by Ultimate FM; a radio station based in the city, Agyapong said some highly placed officials in government told  Osei to “bring your buttocks in exchange of EC Chair position.”   But responding to the statement, Hajia Zainab Mahama who appeared furious said, she do not want to waste her time on the legislator because, she suspects him to be suffering from mental illness, thus he needs psychiatric check.   According the women's leader of the NDC, women in Ghana should protest against the unfortunate and misogynistic comment by Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.   ''I think Kennedy Agyapong is mentally ill. How can a  man of his caliber insult and degenerate women? This is painful and i urge women in Ghana to stand against these attacks on women.''   Hajia Zainab Mahama stressed that women who are occupying key position in Ghana are competent and qualified to occupy the position given them.
