President John Dramani has revealed that government has acquired 10, 000 hectares of land to resettle livestock farmers [Fulani Herdsman] in the Afram Plains locality.
According to him, the manifesto of the NDC has holistically captured measures to resolve the Fulani menace.
President Mahama was speaking to residents at Afram Plains in the Eastern region on Tuesday as part of his campaign tour in the region.
He said the land would provide nomadic herdsmen an opportunity to take care of their livestock since it will contain the necessary logistics including water facility, veterinary officers among others.
‘’The resettlement of the livestock would reduce the tension that had over the years been built between the farmers and owners. We will provide them with regular veterinary services to increase their production and avoid diseases on the animals. They will have access to water too.''
