Written by  Nov 15, 2016
Goodwill Sports Ambassador Ray Quarcoo has admonished officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Sports Minister to bury their differences since that could prevent the national team the Black Stars from qualifying to the 2018 Russian Fifa World Cup. He was speaking at the 6th Edition of the MTN FA Cup Awards Night held over the weekend at the Banquet Hall here in Accra. According to him, the impasse between the Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuye could affect the chances of the senior national team, the Black Stars. Ambassador Ray Quarcoo said, ‘’ “In my opinion, the deep-rooted tension between the two bodies is infertile and should be resolve with immediate effect. We need to go back and pick lessons from how Ohene Gyan, Ghana First Director ran sports in the past. Otherwise we should forget about qualifying for the 2018 World Cup to Russia.’’ The former Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF) president added that: “ The earlier we put our house in order, the better. How do we expect the Black Stars to do well, when the two authorities expected to work as a team to ensure victory continue to fight?. Ultimately and certainly, Ghana will be the loser should this fight persist.”
