The School Health Promotion Committee of the Tamale Nurses and Midwives Training College, in the Northern region, has embarked on a free health screening exercise in the Duanayilli community in the Tamale metropolis.
The exercise forms part of the school’s corporate social responsibility to the people in the Tamale metropolis and the northern region as a whole.
Mr. Abdul-Muiiz Tikumah who is the head of the health promotion unit highlighted the purpose of the event saying, the school as part of its contribution towards improving the health and wellbeing among the people of Tamale, and the entire Northern region, have started with the free health screening with a that target of over 2,000 residents in the Duanayilli community.
He said, "Our acting Principal is a hard working leader wants the community and the entire region to feel the existence of the Tamale Nurses and Midwives Training College"
Meanwhile, the Acting Principal for the school, Mr. Abdul Malik Abudulai, reiterated that, the school is part of the community and the community too is part of the school therefore, it is very significant to always organize event that will make the community realize the importance of the of the school.
Mr. Malik thanked the Chief and people of the community, the sponsors including pharmacies which supported the school with some drugs and also the assemblyman of the area for contributing towards the success of the free health screening exercise.
