The Tamale Teaching Hospital which has served a large number of people within the northern sector of the country is threatened as some senior staff are hatching plans to privatize its laboratory for personal gains.
According to investigations conducted by our Northern regional correspondent Prince Kwame Tamakloe, the staff handling the department are deliberately under-utilising the facility, so as to have grounds to privatize it to their benefit.
Prince Tamakloe revealed that some equipment donated by a foreign firm and government meant for the facility was handed over the Bolgatanga Government Hospital.
He added some of the senior staff of the facility want to cover up and prevent auditors from exposing massive embezzlement at the facility.
Meanwhile residents are up in arms against the decision since it affect operations of National Health Insurance Card (NHIS) Holders.
