The decision was taken following a submission of a proposal to the President by the Chair of the Electoral Commission (EC), Mrs. Jean Mensa.

The proposal was unanimously accepted by all political parties at an Inter-Party Advisory (IPAC) meeting held today, Wednesday, December 2, 2020, the statement explained.

A total number of 17,027,641 eligible voters are expected to exercise their franchise on December 7, except for those disqualified for infringement on electoral laws.

Some of the registered voters who had their names removed from the main register included Multiple Registered Voters and those captured under the Exception List Voters Register.

Out of the total number of registered voters, females recorded the highest number of registered voters with 8,810,283 which represents about 51.74 percent while the males had 8,217,358 representing 48.26 percent of the total number of registered voters.
