The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has gaffed by campaigning for the incumbent Member of Parliament for Odododiodoo Nii Vanderpuye instead of the NPP’s Nii Lante Bannerman.
While addressing teeming supporters of the NPP at the final rally of the party at Mantse Agbonaa in James Town, the president mistakenly campaigned the NDC candidate.
But quickly corrected himself and asked the ‘gods’ of the land for forgiveness.
He then said a vote for the NDC candidate should not be an option.
“Vote massively for President Akufo-Addo. Do not sit at home and say that Nana Addo has won the elections already and so you will not vote. Please go out and vote. In the Odododiodoo constituency, when you vote for me, then you vote for Nii Lante Vanderpuye.”
Quickly after realizing the gaffe, he said: “this is a gaffe. I have gaffed. What are we going to do with Nii Lante Vanderpuye? I am asking for forgiveness from the gods of Ngleshie. I gaffed.”
