Machines break down at Awutu-Senya East

Residents and electorates in the Awutu-Senya East constituency in the early hours of today experienced some challenges as they went to cast their votes.

According to them, they got to the polling station as early as 5 am in the morning but only for the EC officials to come and tell them they have some issues with the machines.

Our reporter Kwabena Agyekum Banahene spoke to the EC official.in charge and he said,” though they encountered some challenges early morning it has been restored and voting has begun”.

He added that voting begun at 8 am and the number of persons expected to vote today is 553 but so far only 70 have been able to vote. He further stated that now everything is under control and voting is going on smoothly so electorates should remain calm as they continue the process.

Finally, he said, there are backups should any of their machines break down.
