President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cast his ballot in the Abuakwa South Constituency.
He was accompanied by First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was also in Walewale in the North-East Region to vote.
He encouraged all eligible voters to go out and vote.
“I encourage all qualified Ghanaians to come out and vote. This is a very important civic exercise, which we must discharge peacefully,” he said.
Polls opened in the 38,622 centers across the country as Ghanaians vote in the eighth successive elections of the Fourth Republic.
Twelve candidates are contesting the presidential race with 885 parliamentary candidates controlling the 275 seats in Parliament.
