Sustainable development expert Michael Ebo Amoah has advised the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to file candidate John Dramani Mahama as their presidential candidate in 2024 should he lose the 2020 polls.
He believes there is no better candidate to represent the NDC in 2024 because he is well-known, marketable, and politically strong to match any candidate from the NPP.
Mr. Ebo Amoah said from where he sits, Mahama will never leave the affairs of the NDC if he is unable to win the 2020 polls.
According to him, the former president would want to have the bragging right as a candidate who served two terms just like former presidents Kufour and Rawlings.
The NDC he added will prolong their return to office should they select a new candidate for the party as a presidential candidate.
He said the former president has performed well in the polls especially by managing to decrease the votes Nana Addo used to win the polls in the year 2016.
He said per the projections, the president has reduced his 2016 percentage making it easier for Mr. Mahama to come in 2020 and win massively.
He said Mahama has proven that he is not a weak candidate although the NPP took him for a ride.
