Investigative journalist and the Chief Executive Officer of Tiger Eye PI, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has demanded protection for Manasseh Azure Awuni for the threats on his life.
He is also demanding protection for other journalists who have been threatened including Afia Pokua of the Despite Media Group, Abdul Hayi Moomen of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Captain Smart of Angel Fm, and other journalists who been threatened.
The investigative journalist said such threats when not dealt with could lead to serious issues.
He recounted how Ahmed Suale was murdered and underscored the need for the threats to be checked.
He asked the government to condemn the attacks on journalists and further admonished the National Media Commission and the Ghana Journalists Association to do more in engaging politicians and journalists who pursue public interest journalism.
