The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has welcomed the 123 newly elected Members of Parliament to serve their constituents with honour and integrity.
He admonished them to see themselves as honourables and act accordingly.
He indicated that their election as MPs is one that must be in service to the people because the voters trusted they will serve them diligently.
Rt. Hon. Bagbin said whatever may have been their inspiration to chose to be MPs should be done in a manner that reflects the tile as honourables.
The position of an MP he added is one of leadership, trust, and above all, of service.
He advised them to seek guidance from MPs who have been reelected and stayed in the House for years.
He stressed the need for them to serve with respect, honour, and diligence.
He said the responsibility of having a successful career in parliament rests with them.
He asked them to remember that Parliament is a House of Rules.
