Former Communications Minister Ursula Owusu has underscored the need for Ghanaians to take the safety protocols seriously because the covid-19 was fast spreading in our communities.
According to her, she lost three of her friends to the deadly disease last week.
In a post on Facebook, the lawmaker asked Ghanaians to keep wearing their face masks, wash their hands with soap and water.
She wrote: “I lost 3 friends to COVID last week. COVID-19 is fast spreading in our communities, kindly stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, washing your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue (dispose immediately).
Stay at home if you begin to feel unwell, even with mild symptoms such as headache and slight runny nose, until you recover.
If you develop fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing, seek medical advice promptly.”
Ghana has currently recorded 352 deaths and over 1,900 cases.
Thirty-three persons are in critical conditions with our intensive care units full.
