Mr. Emmanuel Opoku Abrokwah, a football administrator who is seeking to be a representative of Division two board in the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) elections which is slated for tomorrow, Thursday, January 21, 2021, has expressed strong optimism of winning.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi on Rainbow Sports, he promised to deliver and provide sterling leadership if elected.

According to him, he is not a novice in the football fraternity, and with his experience, he hopes to help transform grassroots football and division 2 football.

He has promised to support the leadership of GHALCA to ensure that the football fraternity grows.

He would be facing competition from Eugene Jacquaye.

But Mr. Abrokwah says after the polls tomorrow, he would emerge as the winner.

“I have gathered the experience as a football administrator. I am not a novice, and before I decided to contest, I consulted widely with stakeholders and realized my chances were bright. I am bringing on board the experience I have gathered over the years. I am not seeking any selfish interest but the growth of football. I understand how to manage football players, I understand the relationship between football administrators and players. I have 20 years of experience and understand football investment and growth. If we work and work efficiently, we will achieve our objectives and that is what I am in to do. I am not after money but I want to serve.”

He added: “I am optimistic of victory. I will win the polls. The support I have is great and the chances of winning are bright.”

The election would see incumbent Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo challenged by Isaac Koomson for the position of the Chairman, whilst Vice-Chairman Alex Ackumey is also being challenged by Ebusua Dwarfs John Ansah – who is gunning for another seat on the GHALCA.

He has already spent eight solid years as a Premier League representative on GHALCA.

Liberty Professionals Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Linda Ansong would contest for the position of Treasurer against Justice Boison.

West African Football Academy (WAFA) Operations Manager, George Ofosuhene is seeking another term as a Premier League representative on the council alongside.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of Danbort FC, Eugene Nobel Noel, and Felix Bewu of Heart of Lions will compete for one of the slots as representative of the National Division One League.
