Update by the Ghana Health Service shows that Ghana has recovered 1,487 new cases of the covid-19 virus.
This has increased our active cases to 6,411 cases..
Fifteen new deaths have also been recorded increasing our death toll to 457.
The confirmed cases for the country are now 71,533 with 64,658 recoveries and discharges.
The country is still recording over 700 cases daily.
The Ghana Health Service at a press briefing last week announced that the new Covid-19 variants from the United Kingdom (UK) are spreading faster and widely among the Ghanaian population, with higher disease burden.
It warned that the trend of the spread of the UK variants could overtake the traditional one in existence in Ghanaian communities if people fail to strictly observe the preventive and safety protocols put in place by the government.
