Kaneshie GPRTU using ‘OyaApp’ to reduce road accidents

The Kaneshie and Branch Station branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union has introduced an App to help track their members and give passengers satisfaction.

The ‘OyaApp’ which can be downloaded Playstore could be used by commuters going to Taekwa, Daaman, Takoradi, Cape Coast and its environs.

Chairman of the station John Ansah explaining how the App works on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm said it helps them to check the number of passengers in a bus, over speeding and other regulations and whether drivers are abiding by them.

He noted that the App helps the Union to ensure discipline on our roads.

He said passengers are required to download the App, with their details taken, and the number of other relatives taken so when there is an emergency, they could be contacted.

He described the App as an efficient way to ensure discipline, reduce road crashes and also ensure the safety of passengers at all times.

”We want to reduce road crashes. That was the reason why we launched the App. Drivers are now disciplined because if they should misbehave on the road, the App will indicate it and they would be punished,” he told host Kwabena Agyapong.

He suggested that if passengers are looking for a safe, reliable public transport experience, OyaApp is the way to go.

He said the App was developed for them by a private individual.
