Pregnant woman forced to deliver in the middle of the road by armed robbers

Suspected armed robbers who went on a robbing spree at Nweneso in Atwima Kwanwoma District in the Ashanti Region have forced a pregnant woman to deliver during their illegal act.

The pregnant woman begged the suspected robbers to allow the motor rider she had fired to sent to the hospital because she was in labour.

However, the robbers refused and asked that she deliver in the middle of the road while they robbed several commuters at gunpoint.

In a report filed by Abubakar Nuhu on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he said the robbers pounced on several commuters on the road who were mostly miners and demanded they hand over their money and other valuables or risk being shot.

The pregnant woman, who was on the motorbike, told the robbers she was in labour, hence she should be allowed to go to the hospital to deliver.

But they [robbers] refused and asked her to step down from the motorbike, and deliver in the middle of the road.

The rider also appealed to the robbers but was slapped and asked to shut up.

Our reporter added the woman delivered a boy and was later rushed to a nearby hospital after the robbers completed their mission.

Several commuters had their phones, money and other valuables taken from them by the robbers.
