Presbyterian Television Station to be launched before the end of this year -Moderator

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) is to open a television station before the end of this year.

This was disclosed by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG, Right Reverend Professor Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, at the Ebenezer Congregation at Wenchi in the Bono East Region of Ghana, yesterday, Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

Addressing Church members as part of his 10-day pastoral working visit to the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Church, the Moderator said the new TV channel would be dedicated to religious affairs of Presbyterianism and also to propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the PCG comprises the Ahafo Region and some parts of the Bono, Bono East and Ashanti regions.

He said the decision by the Church to open a TV station was as a result of the television industry being dominated by some unscrupulous, dishonest, crooked and charlatan religious broadcasts, which has dented the image of Christianity.

He said Presbyterian Television channel would offer viewers un-adulterated word of God and offer proper teachings, true Christian doctrines, preaching of the word of God and bring people to the saving-knowledge of Jesus Christ.

The announcement of the Moderator was received by the Church members with lots of applause and standing ovation.

He said the Presbyterian TV channel, when opened, would live up to expectation as a religious channel to spread the good news.

Rt. Rev. Prof. Mante assured Church members that plans are far advanced to ensure that they come to reality before the end of the year.

He urged church members to continue to pray for the leadership of the Church.
