‘I’m still the Head Coach of Legon Cities’-Hayford

Coach Bashiru Hayford, who took charge of Legon Cities earlier this season as the head coach of the club, has raised issues concerning his position at the club after the appointment of Coach Maxwell Konadu.

He told Rainbow Sports’ Worlanyo Wallace that he has been asked to step aside by Maxwell Konadu until the season is over.

“Maxwell Konadu has made it clear to me that: I should stay aside for him to complete the season by managing the remaining matches of the season,” he said.

He was optimistic that their next game against Eleven Wonders would go well for them.

He said the team is prepared for the game and would not allow the previous games they lost to distract them.

The Royals, Legon Cities, after the appointment of Maxwell Konadu to beef their technical team on Sunday, July 4, 2021, by the management of the club until the rest of the 2020/2021 GPL season, have suffered two straight losses in the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA CUP.

Maxwell Konadu lost his first match against Atram De Visser at the Accra Sports Stadium in the MTN FA CUP round 16. Legon Cities lost their second match managed by Coach Maxwell in the GPL week 33 against Elmina Shark at the Ndum Sports Stadium.

Legon Cities are currently battling relegation as they have only been able to accumulate 39 points after playing 33 matches in the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
