The Ghana Health Service has today, Friday, October 29, 2021, received 18 different medical equipment worth 6.5 million cedis from the Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA).
The medical equipment came through the “CHPS for Life project” to enhance the provision of essential health services in the five Northern Regions: Northern, Upper East, Upper West, North East and Savanna Regions.
The items included: Sphygmomanometers, stethoscopes, weighing scales for babies and adults, height scales for babies and adults, calibrated measuring tapes, digital thermometers, sterilizing drums (medium), Bucket containers for 0.5% chlorine and contaminated waste, Dressing instrument set, veronica buckets (large and small), vaccine careers, glucometers with strips, pulse oximeters and HB meters with strips.
In all, over 1,000 functioning CHPS zones in 52 districts within these regions will benefit from this intervention.
