The Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Executive Committee has lifted the indefinite suspension placed athlete Martha Bissah for misconduct.
The athlete was handed an indefinite suspension six years ago for accusing the GAA of extortion.
She accused the GAA during the period when she received a scholarship for her to move to the US after winning Gold for Ghana in the 2014 Youth Olympics Nanjing in China.
She was asked to apologize for her comments if she had no evidence but she refused following which she was suspended indefinitely.
She recently issued an apology to the GAA for making the unfounded allegation and asked for forgiveness.
The Executive Committee met on Friday, November 26, to deliberate on Bissah’s unqualified apology letter sent to the GAA and the former President, Professor Francis Dodoo.
Her ban was lifted after the GAA deliberated on the matter at a meeting.
Meanwhile, the GAA has hinted of plans to engage with the athlete and get her to represent the country in comparative games.
The GAA thanked the 800m Youth Olympic Gold medalist for the bold decision to render an unqualified apology to the GAA.
