The European Union in Ghana has announced that SNV Ghana, under the #GrEEnProject it is providing matching grants of GHS 1,170 million to 12 green businesses under the maiden GrEEn Innovation Challenge.
The Ambassador, H.E. Irchad Razaaly, and other members from the EU Delegation, were on-hand to meet and engage with the entrepreneurs who are located in the Ashanti and Western regions of Ghana where the #GrEEnProject is being implemented.
EU, through the #GrEEnProject, is supporting green businesses to scale up and offer sustainable jobs to youth job seekers.
“By providing matching grants through initiatives like the GrEEn Project, the EU guarantees financial inclusion for green SMEs and businesses who are operating at the local level,” H.E. Irchad Razaaly, Head of the European Union Delegation to Ghana said at the 2021 GrEEn Innovation Challenge Award ceremony held on Thursday in Accra.
As part of supporting green businesses to scale up, @SNV Ghana, under the EU-funded #GrEEnProject, has awarded a matching grant of GHS 1,170 million to 12 green entrepreneurs from the Ashanti and Western regions of Ghana.
The GrEEn Innovation Challenge is one of several initiatives the EU is funding in Ghana to provide financial inclusion to green businesses and entrepreneurs.
