Our school building is now a death trap-Soabe residents

Residents, pupils, and the teachers at Suabe, a community in the Dentsembour District of the Eastern Region have called on authorities to construct a new school building for them since the current one is dilapidated.

According to them, the school building has become a death trap and put the lives of the pupils and teachers at risk.

The current condition of the building has forced management to combine some of the classes.

The former Assemblyman for the area,
Alex Aboa commenting on the matter said several efforts to have the sutajon addressed have proved futile.

He called on the Ghana Education Service to take steps in addressing the issue before the building collapses on the pupils and their teachers.

The building is also a breeding place for dangerous rodents and reptiles, this website has gathered.

The situation is worse during the rainy season.

Meanwhile, they have asked Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to intervene because his family is from there.

On his part, the Zongo chief for the Suabe community Alhaji Yakubu asked the government to intervene immediately.

He said education is the basic foundation and growth of every child and pupils in the area must not be deprived of the opportunity.
