Our victory in the 2020 Prez election was not easy-John Boadu

December 19, 2021

General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has declared that the 2020 presidential election victory won by the party was not attained on a silver platter.

The chief scribe giving an account of his stewardship to delegates at the party’s national delegates conference in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region, on Sunday, December 19, 2021, said the elephant family won the elections through hard work and preparation.

The NPP he indicated has shown that it was far superior compared to the NDC because it successfully collated the results in the shortest possible time.

He noted that per the election outcome, it could not achieve its target of having an impressive record in winning more parliamentary seats.

John Boadu disclosed that the NPP lost over 30 parliamentary seats in the 2020 general elections.

He said the main target of winning an emphatic victory in the presidential election was achieved.

He added that although the NDC lied to members that they won the polls, they could not prove the same in the court, and the Supreme Court unanimously declared President Akufo-Addo as validly elected.

He said the NDC could not provide single evidence to a how-to proof that they indeed won.

He commended Ghanaians for reelecting President Akufo-Addo to continue to deliver on his policies and programmes changing Ghana for the better.

He advised Ghanaian voters to retain the NPP so they would continue to build on the foundations of the current president.
