Gov’t places travel ban on Malta, South Korea & Israel

The government of Ghana has through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs placed temporal travel restrictions on all travelers arriving g from Israel effective today, December 20, 2021.

The travel ban is for a period of 14 days except in humanitarian exceptional cases it official travels.

A statement issued by the Ministry said permission would have to be obtained from the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

It has therefore asked the general public to take note and act accordingly.

The Ministry has also placed similar restrictions on travelers to and from Malta.

According to the Ministry, the government does not recognize vaccine certificates from Malta.

Aside from these two countries, the government has placed a temporal travel ban on all travellers arriving from South Korea.

The ban is a period of 14 days, the statement issued said.

The Min istry added that the ban is because of the Omicron variant.
