No, leave for our Personnel this festive season, our focus is to protect you-Police

The Regional Police Commander for Greater Accra, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCOP Iddi Seidu, has declared the readiness of his men and women ahead of the Christmas and New year season.

DCOP Iddi Seidu noted that several police officers, have been deployed across the region and beyond to ensure the safety of residents in the regional capital.

According to the regional police boss, IGP George Akuffo Dampare has put a freeze on leave except on emergency cases for all their personnel contribute towards the safety of the metropolis.

He disclosed that the Police would mob up and deploy personnel throughout the metropolis but in uniforms and plainclothes.

He said the Police was geared up and has deployed several resources including patrol vehicles, motorbikes among others to ensure a successful operation this season.

The move he added is to ensure the public celebrate the holidays in peace and safety.

He encouraged the public to support the Police in maintaining law and order.

To drivers, he urged them to be disciplined, respect road traffic regulations and reform others be arrested and prosecuted.

To the officers, he advised them to eschew acts that will drag the name of the service into disrepute.
