Ban on beach operations lifted, but only vaccinated persons would be allowed entry

The Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council has lifted the ban it placed on beaches.

This comes after the Council a meeting today, Thursday, December 30, 2021.

The Greater Accra Coalition of Beach Operators had raised concerns over the closure of beaches.

They had claimed that members had invested over Ghc10 million into organizing events and expos but the closure had affected these activities.

The Council in its latest statement said the beaches would only be admitting vaccinated persons.

The statement said the Ghana Health Service will mount vaccination booths to facilitate the vaccination of unvaccinated persons.

Beach operators are also expected to ensure strict adherence to the safety protocols.

The entry points are to be different from exit points, the statement added.
