A Ghanaian taxi driver, Samuel Afriyie, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, stormed the studios of Rainbow Radio complaining bitterly of how expensive ‘koko’ porridge has become.
The 51-year-old man drove all the way from Newtown a suburb in the Greater Accra region where he had bought the porridge.
He could not understand why Ghc2 worth of the ‘koko’ would be that expensive.
He was listening to a discussion on the morning show where the host Kwabena Agyapong and two of his colleagues Rashid Obodai Provencal and Maame Yaa Afra were discussing the cost of living in the country
The driver noted that Ghanaians are struggling with the increasing rate of fuel as well as the rising cost of goods and services.
What made more furious was that he did not take much sugar and the porridge did not contain milk but was expensive.
According to him, when he questioned the woman, she asked if he knew the cost of dough in the market.
He wants the government to take steps to address the recent cost of living since Ghanaians are experiencing harsh conditions.
