The Ghanaian media is serving the interest of NPP, so they’ve failed to highlight our suffering-Businessman

A Ghanaian businessman based in Kumasi, Musa Abubakar, has taken the Ghanaian media to the cleaners accusing them of hypocrisy and failure to hold the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to account.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he opined that the level at which former President John Dramani Mahama was berated when he was president is not the same level the current President is experiencing.

He alleged that the majority of media houses in Kumasi are praise-singing the government in spite of the extreme hardship Ghanaians were going through.

According to him, businesses are struggling because the cedi is currently depreciating at an unprecedented level against the dollar.

The cost of living he asserted is at a level that Ghanaians can no longer bear.

He said ”I blame the Ghanaian media for their level of hypocrisy. In the past, when the cedi depreciates against the dollar, the media will highlight the issues and hold the former government but today, the Ghanaian media is serving the NPP and not Ghana. Especially in Kumasi, the media in Kumasi is not living to their watchdog role. They are serving the interest of the NPP instead of Ghana”.
