Principals at the various teacher training have hinted that they cannot continue to feed students as their suppliers have withdrawn their services till they are paid.
According to the Principals, the students are fed on GH7 per day or GH210 each month.
A statement issued by the National Conference of Principals stated that Teacher training colleges have not had their subsidies paid for six and a half months.
The students indicate that their allowances haven’t been paid for 7-months and thus cannot feed themselves.
The Conference has outlined a number of measures to address the issue.
Per their roadmap, they will provide trainees with only breakfast and supper for the next week.
This would be followed by the provision of only lunch and then the students would be forced to feed themsleves.
