We’ve soft copies of all our documents for reprint- Lands Ministry

Contrary to claims the heavy downpour on Saturday destroyed documents at the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry, Deputy Minister Benito Owusu Bio has stated otherwise.

Addressing journalists on Monday, the Deputy Minister said no document on the Achimota Forest had been destroyed in the flood that occurred at the head office of the Lands Commission in Accra over the weekend.

He also revealed that there are soft copy versions of all the documents available for reprint in the event of destruction.

“Nothing here can be linked to Achimota or whatever forest, but then all files and documents are intact, they have been saved. Every document where too, there is a soft copy of it.

“Should anything of that happen, we can assure everyone that we can reprint replacement documents so that they can be used,” he said.

The heavy downpour on Saturday submerged the basement of the new building was heavily submerged in water after Saturday night’s downpour.

Several documents and other items at the head office of the Commission were destroyed, but the Deputy Minister says there was no cause fro alarm.
