The Municipal Chief Executive of Nsawam Adoagyiri Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng has assured residents, chiefs and constituents at Nana Asiaw that the MA Basic School will soon get a classroom block.
He has therefore appealed to them to exercise patience since the construction of a school is not something that can be rushed.
He was responding to a Rainbow Radio report on a story of how pupils at the school are currently studying at a cemetery in the community.
According to the Assembly Man, Joseph Yaw Konnor, they have since 2019 chased authorities, but nothing has been done about it.
He disclosed that the pupils are threatened by snakes.
Currently, the community mobilised itself and constructed a makeshift facility to serve as a place for teaching and learning.
The Church of Pentecost in the area has also allocated its church facility to serve as a classroom for students in Junior High School 1 and 2.
The Church says it provided the space for the students since it believes in contributing to the growth of the students.
Speaking on Nyankonton on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the MCE revealed the area will get a new classroom soon.
He asked the aggrieved residents, chiefs, the school and pupils as well as the management, to remain calm.
He said it was intentional for the pupils to be studying at the cemetery and efforts are underway to give them a temporal structure to serve as classrooms until the six-unit classroom project is completed.
